From vision to impact
From vision to impact
Generation 2030 is brought to life through five strategic pillars. Each pillar defines a clear area of focus and drives concrete actions across the group.

Offering healthier natural drinks

Innovation
Developing healthier natural drinks and sustainable solutions
Innovation plays a key role in developing healthier natural drinks and more sustainable solutions across our portfolio. We design our drinks from natural water sources, choosing simple recipes and natural ingredients, so that the healthiest choice is also the most natural and obvious one. Combined with our target on increasing to 98% of volumes with a Nutri-Score A, B, C, we are aligning with the strong consumer demand for transparency and healthier choices.

The Source Ventures
Investing in future-oriented and sustainable solutions
The goal of The Source Ventures, which is Spadel’s venture capital fund, is to identify and support the most promising European start-ups active in the future of non-alcoholic drinks or the future of drinking water. In total, the fund aims to invest in around ten start-ups. We finance visionary European entrepreneurs who are disrupting the beverage industry with healthy, natural, and sustainable products.

Acting together to respect the planet

Regenerative hydrology projects
Protecting water resources and restoring water-friendly environments
Water is a precious resource. We commit to using it responsibly, always taking less than nature can naturally replenish, and protecting every source we depend on. Beyond preservation, we actively work to restore natural water cycles and strengthen biodiversity, so that each of our sources remains resilient for generations to come. Our regenerative hydrology projects, conducted in close collaboration with local stakeholders across all the markets we operate in, prevent water from running too quickly to allow better infiltration into the soil, for example by meandering watercourses or by creating dams and storm water basins. Regenerative hydrology projects are good for nature and improve the water cycle in our catchment areas, which allows us to offer our consumers mineral water of unparalleled quality.

Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi)
Structuring our pathway toward Net Zero
At Spadel, we recognize the impact our economic activities can have on nature and are continually taking steps to improve our environmental performance. Our climate ambition is structured through the Science-Based Targets initiative, which guides our pathway toward Net Zero based on scientific criteria. Our updated SBTi targets offer a clear pathway towards achieving Net Zero in 2050. To reach our intermediary targets in 2030, we focus on energy in our own operations and on engaging with our packaging and transport suppliers. Our commitment underscores our determination to remain an active participant in the global push for ambitious decarbonization and to advocate for positive climate policies.

Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS)
Ensuring responsible and transparent water management
Spadel has been recognised for years as a major benchmark in Europe for sustainable management and protection of water assets. 4 of our 5 production sites have been awarded the Platinum certificate by the Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS), the most internationally recognised label for sustainable management of water resources. Platinum is the highest possible ranking. The objective for Spadel is very clear: we want all mineral and spring water put on the market by our brands to be managed and bottled in a sustainable manner, without over-exploitation and in a fully transparent and trusting relationship with the other local stakeholders who use these waters.

Packaging innovations (Eco Pack, Fontaine)
Accelerating reusable and circular solutions
We are moving away from single-use packaging by investing in reusable solutions that make sense for a truly circular economy. By prioritizing returnable and refillable formats, and combining them with recycled materials where relevant, we aim to reduce the use of virgin plastic and packaging waste through innovation and smarter design. Packaging innovations such as Eco Pack SPA Reine and Fontaine Wattwiller support our ambition to reach 30% reuse, enabling more circular and resource-efficient packaging solutions.
Developing a purpose-driven team

Positive Impact Day
Engaging our people around sustainability, solidarity and collective action
For the past few years, Positive Impact Day has become a meaningful tradition at Spadel, a moment when our teams step out of their daily routines to contribute to local projects that truly make a difference. This special day brings us closer together, strengthens collaboration across teams, and turns our sustainability ambitions into concrete actions. Whether it’s participating in environmental initiatives, supporting social programs, or any other project that aims to create positive change, each employee is encouraged to choose a cause close to their heart and dedicate this day to making a difference.

Enabling sustainable transformation

What it means to be a B Corp
Embedding positive impact into governance and operations
Being a B Corp reflects our commitment to embedding positive impact into governance, operations and decision-making across the group. Our B Corp certification guides us in our efforts to be a leading sustainable company and to create a positive impact on the world around us. In 2022, Spadel was the first family-owned mineral water group to become B Corp certified both for the group as a whole and for each of its brands. But this first certification was just the start of the journey, as Spadel and its brands will continue aiming higher over the coming years.
Excelling in execution

Family-owned, multi-local brands and local partnerships
Strengthening local economies through proximity and long-term partnerships
As a family-owned, multi-local group, Spadel works closely with local partners to support local economies and build long-term, responsible relationships. We act as a responsible local partner wherever we operate. By keeping people safe, investing in skills and engagement, and growing with our teams, we strengthen our local roots. Our model is local by design, with 95% of our products sold within 500 km of their source, and we reinvest 5% of our profit into local communities, prioritizing projects that regenerate water cycles.
